So here we go... I have always used Mobile 1 Syn ATF in my primaries with excellent results (03 Fatboy, 108K miles). Now that I have a 17 Ultra Limited, slipper clutch, I'm wondering if anyone has tried it or read pros or cons about using ATF with the M8.
SYN will not hurt the primary. Heck HS runs syn3 in them. As for ATF your ride.
HD F+ is about a 50w ATF is to light has to many additives in it. People been doing it on and off for years. Still think all kinds of crazy stuff in primary accounts for some of the failures.

I have been running the M1 ATF with 3 ounces of Lubeguard highly friction modified ATF supplement in my '15 Limited Low with no issues.... it uses the same slip & assist clutch.

If somebody can have their warranty claim denied for a failed oil pump due to using an aftermarket programmer, then surely using a lubricant that does not meet the specifications will cause unnecessary grief if on the off chance you have something go wrong.

Different rules, tuner is now controlled by the Feds per Harley agreement. The lubricant is controlled by the dealer/Mfg.

Synthetic may not hurt the primary, agreed.

The government has no bearing on warranty enforcement.
What I am saying is if the specs given for a particular lubricant are XYZ, you should use a lubricant regardless of what brand that conforms to that specification.
It is truly baffling why someone would spend in excess of twenty thousand dollars on a motorcycle and risk warranty problems in order to save only a couple of dollars by using something other than what the manufacturer specifies, especially when there are numerous lubricants on the market that do meet the required specification.
