Default Pull the trigger?

My trade: 2012 white heritage, stage II, led lights, abs, mustang seats, and a few more extras. They say book on trade for base 2012 heritage is 8500 to 9K. I am sleeping on a deal that would be my trade plus 13K (plus tags, tax. and basic fees.) on a 2017 Road Glide Special, Vivid Black. MSRP is 24K. Thoughts?

Bet that OTD price goes up when they start your financing.

They would lose money if they sold it for that price.

I'm doubting its that cheap and that simple.

Are you financing? Do you still owe on the Heritage? If yes I'll bet your close to up side own, or they will get you there. Dealers are good about a simple attractive price, then pull the shell game in financing. Not to mention maintenance and extended warranty add on's.

Be very cautious.

I would keep the Heritage and just add the new bike. Then sell your bike yourself.

I would not trade at 9K, but that's me. I love my 13 too much. And I paid cash new and five years later still love it.

Either cash deal or get my own financing. (they know this) Heritage free and clear. Basically they discounted the RGS 3K. It is my understanding there is around a 5K markup on those. If so, they still make 2K just for trading steel and a bit of paper work and processing, servicing heritage. Cant keep both, dont want to pay double the insurance that I am paying now. As far as what the book value is, what can u say, it is in black and white... I saw it.

I was wondering if I could do better. Bkle is 24k. plus set up and freight is at least a grand dealers tack on. So basically they knocked off that and discounted bike 2 k.on a new bike in May. My cynical side say I can squeeze more out of them but analytical side says take it, it's a good deal. As usual, my internal battle keeps going. lol

I'll bet if when you call them tomorrow and say you slept on it, but your dreams told you the deal was still about a grand heavy, you could get at least another $500 off and 1000 mile service thrown in.... and about those freight, setup, and documentation charges, they are all grossly inflated. They should be called additional dealer profit.....

Good luck.

They want $24k for their 17 Vivid Black road glide plus tax, freight, fees etc? That's going to add up fast in additional charges. I'd tell them to beef up your trade in or hit other dealers to see if you can do better. The 18's will be out in early Aug/Sept. Damn dealers are pulling this crap everywhere with wholesale trade in for retail prices for their benefit. Tell them to do better or you'll walk. If they let you walk screw them. Other dealers will work to make you the offer your happy with.
