I'll bet if when you call them tomorrow and say you slept on it, but your dreams told you the deal was still about a grand heavy, you could get at least another $500 off and 1000 mile service thrown in.... and about those freight, setup, and documentation charges, they are all grossly inflated. They should be called additional dealer profit.....
Good luck.

I agree, they may not want to knock anymore off the price but they can usually waive the freight and set-up fees and throw in the first service as well. Another option is to give you 25% off any parts and zero labor for install. I had all of this thrown into my deal, but I bought in the heart of the winter. I still think you could sweat them a little more to sweeten the deal. Just my two cents worth. Good luck, and you won't be disappointed with your new scoot.
Looks like you already have a better deal than I got last September.
Trying to get a klock werks shield and docking hardware thrown in. Maybe a bit more additional discount to boot. If all goes well, will be riding it by this coming weekend. Will have to be a dealer trade though, they dont have one in stock but the salesperson said he could get it NP.

Ok guys, here is the deal. I appreciate all the input greatly. I got them to throw in a Klock Werks shield. That is as far as they go. After much thought, I chose black and gave a hundred dollar deposit. About 15 minutes later the BP started going up and was having second thoughts. Have not felt like that since I made a offer on my first house.
Asked the salesman to hold onto the deposit a couple of more days and let me rethink this. A blue collar worker with modest savings at 56 years of age buying a 900 lb touring bike that by the time I pay it off will be worth at least 10 grand less and I will be 61... For me to keep Heritage, I would want to put at least 2-3 grand more into it.... Tunes, phone mount/ or GPS and wiring, maybe hard bags. Break away throttle lock, and so on. In the words of Barbarino "I'm so confused"
When I start thinking about the money, I talk to my friends that own boats.
I just moved up to the touring platform from a dyna so it was a much easier choice. I didn't like starting over, but the M8 is just a great ride and the SGS really enhances my style of riding. The dyna got me here and served its purpose.
Nothing wrong with a little second thought. You already have a nice bike. I bet you will miss that bike when it's gone. I miss my Slim S every time I look at pics of it but, I hop on the SG and that M8 just makes all that crazyness go away ;-)
It's a big expense, take a few days and think it over. No need to rush into things especially since you have such a beautiful scoot already. If you think you will be happy for the next five or six years on your Heritage and only have to spend two to three grand on mods that you want, then that seems like the right thing to do.
On the other hand....the M8 is the best scoot that HD has produced in the past twenty odd years that I've been riding them IMHO. I'm more of the "YOLO" kind of guy and don't want to look back at my life with any regrets but we all don't know hoe long we will be here. Enjoy each day to its fullest. Bottom line is that you have a tough choice to make.
Below is the invoice price for the SGS to use as as example. You should be able to walk in at anytime and get one for at the most 15% over invoice. There is still a little wiggle room at that point, but it's a good reference point. I put this together for a buddy who was out shopping last weekend.
