I always wondered about them for comfort level..loved the ergonomics of my Heritage...but worry about handling, cornering and more importantly, control in hard avoidance braking
I've wondered that too.
My hands go numb riding with stock handlebars, I cant imagine how numb they would stay if elevated.
But I wouldn't mind some mini apes...something to put my hands level with my shoulders. No more.
You may have circulation issues if your hands go numb with stock bars.
Not really circulation issues, rather some carpal tunnel issues from 20+ years in upholstery.
Its way better now than when I was still in that work, but does still go numb riding.
I didn't think adding apes or mini apes would make that better, but if it didn't make it worse I was considering some for my bike. I like that looks and I think my shoulders would benefit from better hand positions.
I had shoulder pain with stock bars. Put the apes on pain is gone, my hands are about an inch or two below my shoulders and can ride all day without hands going numb. My apes are a couple inches wider with more pullback than stock and make control in turns easier. Now my butt with stock seat is a different story.
