I am thinking about installing the stage 3 kit on my Road King, I have read numerous posts on this site & was just wondering if anyone has done this on an M8 RK & if so what did they think.
Have stage 3 on my RK. It expands the powerband so it doesn't fall off quickly like the stock M8. I'm sure you've checked out the dyno chart comparisons on the Screaming Eagle site.
Make sure you get the new oil pump if you do. Mine is in the shop for the oil sumping issue.
All good info, just what I wanted to hear. Roughly what was the cost of fitting ? Obviously here in the U.K. we are not restricted with the EPA regs so will I be ok with a power vision tuner or is it best to stick to the HD tuner on this ?

If you care about your warranty, use the HD tuner until the warranty is up...
If you don't care about warranty, go right to the powervision...!

Fortunately in the UK we are not affected with aftermarket tuners & warranty issues which is why i have tuned the stage 1 with the PV tuner, presumably i'll be able to get a new map from fuel moto for the stage 3 or use the auto tune facility.
I'm debating the stage 4 on my bike. Currently, I have a stage 2 setup tuned with my powervision. There's no question, use the PV. That crap HD tuner leaves a lot on the table and will not allow the tech/tuner to make changes across the range that they need to make. Warranty wise, if your dealer is worth their salt, you'll be fine.
Also meant to say, I would seriously consider looking at another cam. There's several now making them for the M8's, TTS, Woods, S&S, Tman. Any would be better than the HD cams as well. Those are a weak link as well as HD's tuner.
Good luck.....

If you shop around, you will find there are aftermarket cams that will bolt in the 107" and produce better numbers than the EPA stage 3 kit is producing. I have a stage 3 in my 17 RGS and the numbers TTS and Cycle rama are producing with their bolt-in cams in the 107" are better than mine. SE kits all come with EPA compliant cams. As for the tuner, don't do the SE if you want or need a new or custom map. All they can offer is canned maps that may or may not work with your set-up. According to the pro's on here, it has inferior tuneability.

Good deal, I've always had real good luck with FuelMoto maps....
