Knock / Clatter front of Primary cover
Around the 800 mile mark I started to notice a clattering / mild knocking sound coming from the left front of the engine. It wasn't in time with the engine running, but a random but continuous knock. It generally only happened when the engine was cold and idling.
Took it to the dealer and told them it sounded like it was coming from the area where the compensator is located under the primary. Service manager listened to it and agreed with my assessment. They took the bike in and said they removed the primary cover and checked the torque on the compensator nut and tightened it to specs. (And replaced the damn rear tire because it had a nail in it.)
The bike runs fine, and the noise has abated somewhat, but hasn't gone away completely. When I picked it up last Friday we all listened to it and both the tech and the service manager said it sounded okay to them.
Is this normal for the M8 engine? Is / has anyone here experienced the same thing? I'm used to the Twinkies that made so much noise you couldn't tell where anything was coming from and with this engine any little noise gets my attention.
Thanks in advance.

EDIT: The bike now has 2200 miles on it.
