My son got a quote from his local HD store in NV for a stage 4 upgrade using a
Thunderheader, Roland Sands Intake and TTS Tuner!!. They said using anything short of a TTS tuner is complete waste of money.
$7k OTD including a ridiculous $2400 for labor!
He went with a full Trask Turbo for same money and will be getting another 35-45 hp and tq across the board.
Almost every tuner i have talked to say the same. The tts is the easiest to tune with from what i hear and why theses guys say that.
People have had sumping issues show up as late as 15,000 miles. Any generation of motor can have catastrophic failure, but it'd be drag to have pay out of pocket for a new motor at 15,000 miles just for doing a decent Stage 1. You might be able to fight and win, but that's time and $$$, especially with all the precedent they'd be trying to avoid.
I think with a little common sense you can answer your own question
I want to get parts that would void my original warranty but I'm going to wait until warranty expires before I install said parts. At the same time I want to buy an extended warranty and hope those parts I mentioned from earlier wont void the extended warranty like they most certainly would the factory warranty.
Do I have that about right??? I got an idea. How bout instead of buying an extended warranty you just paypal me the money. At least I would do something beneficial with it. You'll just be flushing it down the toilet.

The ESP gives a prorated refund when cancelled, so it's not quite the same as simply voiding. They only get to keep the amount you were covered for.
My M8 is 3 months old, and has 2,500 miles. After 1 year, if it continues to be problem free...I'm going to screw the warranty and have fun. Of course I'll have to buy the parts outside of California.

Thats what I thought at 2500. Mind changed at 5600

Exactly what I thought as well around 2500, and then 5,000 and 15,000. As a matter of fact I was telling my wife how great the bike was, then we got off the freeway and the fun was over. point is, its a crap shoot.
