Like many of you.........I'm waiting the 2 years for my warranty to expire and then I'll drop the Cat and this HD tuner.
I also plan to purchase the ESP from Cornerstone; but my question is. Since this plan just extends the factory warranty, it still wont cover those non-EPA changes to our Mil 8?
Those who are waiting, like me.......is it just to enjoy the 2 year warranty? Just wondering if plans like Cornerstone cover the non-EPA changes after those 2 years?
Let me apologize, in advance, for what I believe my post will turn into. These warranty threads are like oil threads. Just really wanted to know about this 2 year wait.....and then what?
well, its like i said in one of the other threads. Next year i am voiding my warranty. I dont care anymore, so for me, its time to move on. So far, my bike is in good shape. I havent had any problems. I will be going to stage 2 next summer, all aftermarket parts. Thanks for your service and enjoy your motorcycle the way you want to........
My son got a quote from his local HD store in NV for a stage 4 upgrade using a
Thunderheader, Roland Sands Intake and TTS Tuner!!. They said using anything short of a TTS tuner is complete waste of money.
$7k OTD including a ridiculous $2400 for labor!
He went with a full Trask Turbo for same money and will be getting another 35-45 hp and tq across the board.
Wow 7k, may as well buy another bike and ride it....... Im looking at that option too. I heard power vision tuner is a good one. Im new to all of this, i will be doing my homework while the snow flys...... $995 from my shop to do a cam.... not bad. its an S&S 465. I had this discussion with my wife, LOL, she said, why dont you just buy a CVO and be done with it............ My mouth was agape.... sure babe, I can do that. Then she said wait a minute, just get the stage 2......
I dont think much goes wrong with the bike in Two years, its not so much the time as the mileage. If the bike is your only vehicle, and you are riding everywhere racking up miles, then worry about the warranty.

On Saturday, I posed this very question to the service manager at the dealership where I purchased my '17 RGU (My bike is still stock).
What I was told was, if a VIN gets flagged, it stays flagged for the life of the bike and the ESP will not cover the powertrain - ever (if flagged). I then asked what happens if the VIN gets flagged and then you want to trade the bike at some future point. The SM said it hasn't happened yet, but since the dealership cannot sell an ESP on the flagged bike to a potential new owner, the trade in value would be diminished, due specifically to the inability to profit from the sale of the ESP.
A lot of guys are still waiting to see what happens. If the political climate changes and the Consent Decree is nullified, or modified this issue may disappear. Until then, a lot of speculation and conjecture continue to circulate in the HD riding community.
