Heard HD revised the oil pump on the newer bikes due to slumping issues in the earlier models. The substandard oil pump was apparent with models with Stage + kits. Is this something we should watch out for in the older M8 if ours is slumping. Apparently, if the bike slumps resulting in too much oil around crank, it heats up really quickly.

There have been several iterations of the oil pump. No indication that the latest version of the pump fixes the problem. (for example, version 4 came out on 9/20. My warranty replacement engine was ordered on 9/22. Warranty replacement engine blew up again on October 22).
So no, I don't think they've found a fix for the problem.
And its not limited to Stage 3 or 4. My bike was completely stock.

what were the part number iterations? there were four different pumps to begin with and I've only seen two new part numbers (one each for the single change to the high capacity pumps for the oil cooled and twin cooled stage 2 kits)
Well, you come here to learn, right? Its known as sumping. The oil cannot be scavenged and pumped back to the oil reservoir fast enough, thus creating a pooling effect in your crank case, which is bad. It has happened on some these guys bikes here in the forum. I have never had it happen, but it is a sudden power loss, I believe. Maybe someone in the know will chime in and give you better clarity. I hope this helps..........
Seeing jgos on this thread, I had to google scavenged 3 times to get the correct spelling on that word...... I did.
