Looks like the filter element is exposed on the top. Do you have to put a sock on it in wet weather?
I've run open ACs like this (mostly Performance Machine) on several bikes. The filters are oiled, and even in heavy rain you'd be surprised how little water actually hits it. I've been in biblical rains, I've never had a rain sock on, never had a problem.
that was two years ago the post your referring too, that is def something the OP did himself!!!
yes I realize it was old post. Was hoping someone would reply and you did so thanks for that. I just bought same filter set up and would like to recreate this venting to atmosphere ao I guess I will have to figure it out somehow. Wish one I bought was chrome as it is black so hunt for cover is on. If anyone has S&S on M8 I would love to see these covers how they flow with rest of the bike especially Heritages models.

thanks for sharing this that looks nice I got blacked out engine but try to balance it with some chrome accents so chrome filter like yours should match nicely with chrome exhaust and pushrods accents. I am shooting for retro look of my Heritage.
How is leg room with this filter? Any clearance issues?
