yes I realize it was old post. Was hoping someone would reply and you did so thanks for that. I just bought same filter set up and would like to recreate this venting to atmosphere ao I guess I will have to figure it out somehow. Wish one I bought was chrome as it is black so hunt for cover is on. If anyone has S&S on M8 I would love to see these covers how they flow with rest of the bike especially Heritages models.
here's my 2020 Heritage with S&S air cleaner and cover soon to get externally vented
Thanks for posting this. Would you mind to share how you want to modify it to vent extermnally?
DK Customs sell a DIY kit for like 50 bucks that vents into a filter you drill and tap the backing plate mounts and run the hoses I might not use the filter and just run it to the bottom of the frame somewhere.

Does this kit require new venting screws from heads? If yes how this would play a role in SS set up as edge of cover is kinda in the middle of the screw there? Just curious.

I put one on my 2016 Dyna and in this Las Vegas summer heat I thought it was going to burn a hole in my jeans. I literally had to get off the bike several times because the heat transfer to the AC was so intense. Probably not an issue in other climates. I like the look and had the originals on my old bikes but I'm sticking with stock on my 2020 which I've ridden in 100+ heat without the same issue recurring. I think it just dissipates the heat better.

Does anyone experienced same issue with heat transfer? I am thinking about installing S&S for looks and the fact that element is covered bs stock 114 AC
