I still dont understand wtf is going on here. Did this guy get rid of his make believe bike or what? For the record....... Im keeping mine. I might get rid of the wife, but never the Harley....

Fishing to capitalize on the overwhelming negativity in the forums to boost one's own self esteem is my guess.
Or, maybe the guy has said 'old bike' and he is trying to get someone else to say...'yea, me too, I want to do that to' and then the op will propose said trade?

I purchased 3 bikes brand new from HD and ALL of them ran PERFECTLY or damn near PERFECT running each of 300,000 miles.
Also, there is a phenomenon here...if HD made 1,000 bikes perfectly and 1 goes whack-a-doodles, that one gets ALL of the bad press. People start to think ALL the HD bikes SUCK.
Do you hear about how GREAT the other 999 run? Nope.
It is like a a big glass of fresh water that is clear. You put in one drop of black ink and it taints the entire water. All you see is terrible water but you cannot drink all because of one drop.
In addition to all of the above, you get a pretty decent warranty.
In addition to all of the above, statistically if one bike out of 1,000 goes whack-a-doodles, then the odds are heavily in your favor you are going to get a terrific bike.
