I've got the 4.5" RCX on my 17 Road King. I've got about 6000 Mike's on the mufflers and I like the sound especially at idle. No drone on the road and I did not notice any loss in the low end torque. I gave not tuned it yet. I have a FP3 waiting to go on probably next month. My warranty expires in Oct and the ESP picks up at that point. I would buy them again, i get a lot of compliments on the sound.
I’m curious to know how they’ll perform after being tuned. I’m currently running a Heavy Breather air cleaner and a Pro Street tuner. I put the stock pipes back on to regain the torque I lost with the other pipes. I’ve heard some people say they’ve lost a little bottom end with the RCX’s, while others say they haven’t. But I’m not sure if tuner and air cleaners were being used in ever scenereo or not.
you did good posing the question here for advice from folks with them and real experience over a just buying from parts guy trying to sell you performance parts that probably doesn't have that experience..many have stated the M8s can be sensitive to just mufflers and losing torque thru professional testing and seat of the pants testing
Haha, thanks. It’s tough trying to figure out how to achieve what you want the first time and not $1000’s later.
So I think I’ve decided to go with the RCX 4” slip ons after a lot of research. I’d like the 4.5’s for the sound, but I gather that I’ll lose less torque with the 4’s. So, not to turn the thread subject around, but what’s everyone’s opinion on head pipes? I’ve got it narrowed down to the RCX Tormentor or the Fuel Moto MX header. If it makes a difference, I’m also looking at the Woods M8-22X cam to go with the build. Looking for real world experience.
I installed RCX slip-ons on my 2017 Ultra. They sound good and the bike runs well, but the chrome started peeling and flaking almost from new. Complete garbage. I would never again buy anything from them.
Pitting and pealing in less than a year. Killed low end torque until tuner was installed. Low end still not good!

I've had mine for almost three years and they look and sound great.
New member here. I was just reading up as I’m learning a lot about the M8 considering my last bike was a stroker. I just bought the Cobra 909 Uppercut NH’s and so far I’m extremely happy with them. They were delivered to my door brand new under $400. I’m still running the stock head pipes so I’m assuming they will get a little louder after my stage 1.
