i havent seen one Softail model that’s doing it. 2018 touring bike yes. I also know of a Softail that had the oil pump fail but that wasn’t a sumping issue it was a shitty build from the factory. So much hearsay around here about this sumping issue. This forum is making it look like a much bigger issue than it really is.
Misery enjoys company. lol

Different drives...TC B chain and M8 has scissor gears. Might not be a correlation but which heats or froths the oil more?

So stop reading and ride. There’s only a couple sumpers and no softails. It only happens very rarely Nothing to worry about. Sounds like thats what you want to hear. Just remember, if it happens to your bike expect others to say you’re just a very rare exception or it must be the way you’re riding.

Oil transferring has only happened with the bikes that have hydraulic clutches and then only a small percentage.
Still, it's no difference, even like when losing a job.
Everyone is sorry for the poor schmuck when he loses his job;

but when you lose yours, it is a BIG deal.

Same thing applies to the oil transfer issue..................

I’ll say this again. My all stock 2018 114 Fatbob sumped at about 1600 miles. It was in dealer shop got 6 weeks while they mucked about.

So true. Having a problem bike while most everyone else is out riding, is terrible. It gets worse when they can't fix the bike, and others start suggesting that it is your fault, something you're doing wrong. BTDT. It's a chance taken with every new vehicle, car or motorcycle. That's why there are lemon laws.

Twin Cam B engines had ONE counter balancer.

There are states that don't have lemon laws that apply to motorcycles, yes. I got curious so I did some googling and came up with this:

The federal lemon law (Magnuson Moss) does apply to motorcycles, for what that's worth. As for state laws, they vary widely. It looks like about half the states include motorcycles in their lemon laws, and half of them don't.

According to "carlemon.com", these are the states that appear to have NO lemon law coverage for motorcycles:
Alaska
Arkansas
Colorado
Delaware
Florida
Georgia
Hawaii
Idaho
Illinois
Indiana
Iowa
Kentucky
Louisiana
Maryland
Massachusetts
Michigan
Mississippi
Missouri
Montana
New York
Pennsylvania
Utah
Vermont
District of Columbia
West Virginia

Obviously anyone interested in the subject should research their own state's lemon laws to see if they are indeed excluded or included. Some states specifically exclude motorcycles, some specifically include motorcycles, and some don't say one way or the other, they just say "covers all motor vehicles under 10,000 pounds" or something similar.
