So Far I like my 2017 FLHTK had my 10k service done 700 miles ago and have had nothing but issues with the bike since then. 1st was the oil leak 2nd the bike seemed to run much hotter, Just got it back from the shop where they replaced the oil pump as well as the left switch due to bike only cranking in neutral at this poin, Got it back home still appears to be hotter than the first 10 but at least no oil underneath now. I have a few plans for it after warranty fur sure. Ride safe guys.
Other than filling that damn gas tank every day ...sometimes 2 times!! 18 bucks and hour ago!!WTH.......BUT I think I like it enough it's getting a real bath today. Not just a thundershower like the past few weeks.
I love my 2018 Road King and I doubt I'll ever own any brand other than a HD unless I decide to get a little sport bike for zipping around town. In fact, love the King so much I'm doubting I'll ever get any other bike. The M8 engine has all the guts I need and tons of torque. A refined but ballsy feeling to it, with torque all through the gear ranges.
Thinking I love the bag rails.... Might just have to put those on....Factory ones?
Rode about 100 miles today, working my way to the 1K service. I'm starting to feel one with the bike, and I'm enjoying it more each time I'm on it. Plenty of power and for two fat tires it does very well in the corners. No complaints whatsoever at this point, and no regrets either.
Yup this dam smile won’t go away lol..it’s made me not wanna drive anymore, unless forced to ofcourse lol. Something bout this bike when I first saw the pics of it I said I will be getting that before the first year of release was up. And I think that’s wht makes me enjoy it so much more then the past bikes.
1000 mile service done this morning. The more i ride, the more i love this bike. The M8 114 is awesome, it has so much grunt; even well into to triple digits it's pulling like a freight train. Got the next two weeks off work, so i doubt it will be long before i'm back in for the 5000 mile service.
Loving my Road Glide Ultra (18). Just had my 1K service and adding stage one in 2 weeks (Street Cannon slip-ons, tune and new air filter). Coming from dirt bikes, the bike was insanely intimidating and hard to handle at first, especially at slow speeds. Now I have a pretty good handle on it (thus why I'm adding the stage 1). Rode it to the office in a downtown metro area for the first time today (Seattle).
My only complaint is on hot days and slow traffic it can get kinda hot, so might consider a cooling fan upgrade of some sort.
Mine used nearly a qt of oil the first 1K. Another 2k later after the first service and I've used only maybe 4 ounces if that much. I love this motor!!!!
Right now, No, I don't like my M8. Top end clatter is driving me crazy. I'm going to try to get it in to be looked at but if this is "normal", I'll probably get rid of it.
Everything else about the bike it great. That damn ticking/clatter is like a sink dripping in the middle of the night when you're trying to sleep. Ignoring it isn't going to work for me.
