lovin my Low rider ..my only gripe is the rear brake. its useless. waiting to see if I can get an aftermarket one with some bite.. it has enough power to get you in trouble, but enough is never enough soI want to get a stage IV kit in the near future
Just got back from Sturgis, rode from Michigan. Total of 7K miles now on the replacement FLTRU. Bike did everything I asked of it, so no complaints so far.
When I was cleaning it up yesterday, belt seemed *very* tight, need to get that checked out.
First post ever. Bought a 2018 Heritage with the 114 M8, apart from the oddly erratic idle, it seems to me to be a really good engine. LOADS of torque, runs low RPM with no lugging, haven't noticed any excess heat. No complaints here. Aussie
Got my new 114 Heritage in april this year.
Completed 10.000 km today; love the way it handles and plenty of power for me to handle (bike is stock). Fuel consumption is great with 45 - 50 MPG.
Few points I don't like:
- side stand (enough said about this in other posts)
- inside of the bags definitely will not stay dry in heavy rain
- should have been 'all led' ex works; a bit strange that the headlights are led and the others are not (bit 'cheap' imo)
- sound of the stock pipes (will be replaced by V&H slip-ons soon)
I realize that the last 2 points are very personal and have nothing to do with the quality of the bike.
Would I buy it again? Yes !!!

Belt tightness seems to be a common theme. I know mine feels way too tight even after 3k but I have yet to get off my butt and check it with a gauge.

Curious what your height is, at 6'2" I'm wondering if I would feel cramped for room on the Heritage....

go test ride one obviously..I had a 2013 and test rode the 2018..I'm 6'3" and love the ergonomics of the Heritages..but they feel less beefy and substantial overall than Road Kings, which have been my choice of being perfect for me for the last 4 years
I own K1600GTL and for a number of reasons want to trade it on a different touring motorcycle. I rented an Ultra Limited for a day and my wife and I rode it for about 300 miles of Interstate, country highways, rural roads, and suburban streets. We liked it. Nice power, comfortable seats, handled well, etc. It worked well for us. We are seriously considering buying one.
Reading this forum I get the impression that everyone hates the M8 for one reason or another. I'm sure that's not entirely true, but still. I'm prompted to ask: Does anyone like their M8 Harley?
I've got a '17 RGS. Awesome bike, 11,000 care free miles!

I'm 1.80 m so a little smaller than you; the suggestions has already been made: go for a (long) test ride to experience if this bike suits you...
(FWIW: a friend of mine is about your height and has been on my bike; he felt comfortable...)

Hey Keith, let me know what they say, I noticed mine is as tight as a snare drum too. Just had the rear tire replaced though so I figured thats how its supposed to be.....
