Starting to worry big time over mine......like Bum, not only have my wipers gone west , but my factory ashtray just packed it in too. I’m really worried - after 25,000km, looks like I’ve got a lemon on my hands - no transfer, no sumping, no melted plastic manifolds, no warped brake rotors, and to add insult to injury, my bike starts in gear.......
Sumping issues aside (and yes, I have had the pleasure), my M8 kicks-***... Low-end pull and throttle response that snaps the neck. Yes, I do LOVE my M8.
Reading this forum I get the impression that everyone hates the M8 for one reason or another. I'm sure that's not entirely true, but still. I'm prompted to ask: Does anyone like their M8 Harley?
Like all news, bad news gets all the attention. We are also a much more demanding customer. I love my M8. Only at 8K miles but I have nothing negative to report. If this was a year ago (when I bought it) and I knew what I know now, I would still make my purchase.
That is the only fair way to frame your customer satisfaction question. If you were able to go back to the day your made your purchase with the knowledge you have now, would you still buy the bike?

what to do?
LOL! Sure looks like you and I both got lemon!
Sell the M8 and buy a TC then go to the ive gone back to a TC thread!
NOT!

I only wish it would rain......the heat is killing me, I thought they came out with A/C on the '18 Ultra's??????? I cannot find the "on" switch or temperature control.... All kidding aside, this is the best bike I have owned, ever, and the most stable, "planted". I get no buffeting or vibration with the RGU, awesome bike.
It actually was pretty nice to get some rain....been horrible hot ever place I have been last 3 months .
But my M8 keeps kicking........guess it didn't get the memo or maybe it doesn't read the forums .
Have to go back to the dealer...thinking the kickstand maybe at too much of and angle. Been a little bit of b tch to wax the primary cover. Think it was transferring wax from the AC to the horn cover tooo.
Yep I have had them all from 59 till 17. This even has the wife begging to go on long trips. She was pretty good with the twink ultra.......but absolutely would kill me if I sold this one. Yep 150 miles more today and love it.
I am going to do sort of a review of my new 2018 M8 Heritage and compare it to my former 88 cid TC Deluxe and my former 2006 CVO softail springer.
First, the new bike is orders of magnitude better than the previous TC softails in every way. Much has been written about the new M8 engine and new softail chassis/frame and suspension. It is all true in comparison to prior year softails.
Suspension and handling is far superior to TC bikes. I am impressed with handling, clearance, braking and power. The new ABS brakes are excellent. The older TC brakes were crap in comparison. The forks and rear suspension are superb. Again, the TC bikes are not even in the same league.
Power: The new 107 is at least as powerful as the 110 cid Screaming Eagle engine in my CVO. As far as comparing to the 88 cid TC, it is not even worth comparing. I had to strain to get up hills on that old 88 inch bike. This new M8 is amazing. I love the stock mufflers as they are quiet. I like quiet. To each their own. The stock pipes will stay.
What is funny is that people think they have to make a bunch of expensive staging mods to a bike. It is fine if you choose to do so. The M8 will never outrun many other bikes and it is not meant to. If you want a fast bike, go buy a fast bike. I do not see value added in doing expensive stage mods to a touring/cruising bike. If I have a hankering for more performance, I will buy a performance bike and have at it.
New bikes and cars have to adhere to EPA regs. Not much you can do about that except write to your representatives. Meanwhile, I do not intend to void my four year warranty. I am more than happy with the new M8 Heritage.
My 2018 Road King (M8/107 w/Stage 1) just keeps on rolling. Got the ESP warranty, but haven't needed it at least not yet. Couldn't be more pleased with the bike. Hoping to put some serious miles on it this weekend.
