From my perspective it's less that there are issues and more that they've been around for some 2 years now with multiple"fixes" from the maker that haven't fixed much at all.
A lot of vehicles have problems.. but then they fix the brake lines or the cruise control or the fly-by-wire accelerator and it's fixed... not "try this", nope, "try that", nope...
It's great, for sure, that many people have a brilliant bike... but there are also people who throw down their $$$ and end up with a two-wheeled-turd need four engines and still sumping.
It just feels a little too hit-an-miss.
For me, I'm going to wait to buy, not in a super hurry... I'll wait until the '19 bikes arrive and let the early adopters find any flaws. If the fluid transfer and sumping are still there I'll walk away entirely.
Bear in mind that, in Australia, my desired bike is either $45 000 or $52 000 depending on which one I decide to get - I'll buy a lotto ticket for $2... but 50 grand lottery? No thanks.
And, at the end of it all, it's my money, my choice. Their loss if they can't get it fixed right.
If you don't own one....your perspective is just another worthless troll post as 75% of the posts on this.

can't argue with any of that..just came back from Canada..the price tags on the Hd bikes up their made my head spin..waaaaay too much money to spend on anything that ain't a sure fire hit..like Peyton Manning and Michael Jordan....not a Sam Bowie or Ryan Leaf..sorry, the Americans will understand those!

Your words don't change the fact that it's my money on the line, not yours.
If you have a great bike and I end up with a sumper, what do you care anyway? It's my problem, my loss... my choice.

like I said...you don't own one so why comment? Nothing helpful? Again just noise....you know nothing but what a few gold chainer warranty queens post ever day ....... But on the price ...holy crap....think I would still be running my 80s EVO. 45-50 k is crazy and I understand that.

Mate do you personally IRL know anyone who has had a bike do either ?
I just traveled the Eastern seaboard of Australia and couldn't find an owner or a HD shop that had had an M8 bike sump or have the transfer thing happen.
Most of it is BS.

Three dealers in my area have sumpers and transferring bikes. And all the real police work is now done on BMW's. The HD's are parade and public support/marketing bikes in Oklahoma.
If I truly hated a bike as much as some post,I would sell, trade it or park it. Some people probably ride worried about what they read on here,if that's the case you need to buy a Prius.I have been on four long trips this summer and not one single issue with the motor. I had a right switch pack go bad and two left saddle bag speakers. None of those problems would leave me stranded. If you truly like the HD ,leave it stock buy a warranty and ride the **** out of it.
