2017 RGS with S.E. stage 3 installed at dealer.
10k trouble free miles, then KAPUUT!
lost power , oil dipstick reading 310 degrees, oil level no longer registering on dipstick, even though it was checked 120 miles ago, smoke from intake air filter.
smelled like burnt toast after parking in garage.
towing to dealer tomorrow, still under warranty, hopefully will not have to fight for it!!

Weren't you supposed to get the Feuling pump installed a while ago?
Yes, my plan was to install it after this riding season along with a TTS 200. The only thing that delayed it was my warranty being in effect for 3 more months.
After riding it for 10k trouble free miles, I can pretty much verify, that the only difference on this last trip, (that grenade the motor), was maintaining 4k rpm's for a bit, as the roads were wide open, where before I would only hit above 3k rpm's for short bursts.
Silver lining is that you're still under warranty. Would have been worse otherwise. And thanks for reporting and letting us know how it happened. It might save some who aren't still under warranty from the same fate.
Shhhhh. Dont tell anyone. The guys with good running m8s will wine up a storm with anecdotal evidence how there bike has 10k and runs fine hahaha. Hope you didn't rev it over 2k! Apparently thats how most guys ride??
really though all jokes aside, i wish you the best. This isn't fair to anyone and the fact harley has their thumbs somewhere thumbs shouldnt be... makes it even worse. Good luck.

Sounds like if the MoCo just put a 3000 RPM rev-limiter on all "upstaged" motors, they could save themselves a lot of warranty replacements and other headaches.
Wow. That is pathetic. Harley needs to stop selling engine upgrade kits and get this crap figured out.
Again, why should they do ANYTHING as long as people keep linin' up to buy their crap?
That kind of behavior would be for a company that actually gives a "F" about their customers. That ain't the MoCo's way of thinkin'. Never has been, never will be.
They'd rather go broke and shut down before they do anything to help their loyal customers.

that or put the redline @ 3500 on the tach. Sorry to hear this. Hope they replace your engine OK.
