If you look it over closely and have ever customized a bike adding all the stuff that's on it you can see why. Add the parts and labor of adding those things and it's NOT overpriced IMHO. I only have two gripes, it should come with a windshield and be available with the 114 engine.
I really like them, considering the add ons I think the price is fair for today’s market. If someone didn’t like the all blacked out look and wanted to change a lot of things it might be considered over priced. I wish Harley would offer the “Specials” in buyers choice of black or chrome accessories. While I like a nice mix some of the colors on the RKS, RGS, SGS would look great with chrome.
Just my thoughts...
Ride Safe
I blacked out my 15 RGS, I'll pay the extra for the RKS thank you.
Windshield and lights are a pittance to add compared to taking all that **** off and having it powder coated (and I get my powder coating basically for cost).
I think the blacked out specials are cool looking but I don't think the premium is worth it. Harley has to have a better profit margin on black parts than chrome I would think. Now if you could get your choice or blacked out or all chromd out like wheels and forks I think it would nice to have a choice at the same price.
I feel it’s a very fair price for the look it gives. Them extended bags are far from cheap to buy. And powered coating is not cheap either. Compared to a standard windshield and light bar that is missing from the standard model. I do not own this model FYI.
