This winter I plan to have a stage 2 installed on my 18 RKS.
I live relatively close to Zippers so they're an option for my installation. From what I've heard they like to use their Thundermax. Is the Thundermax a solid reliable tuner?
My other option would be to use someone else and another tuner like TTS. Problem is theres nobody close by to me that I've heard of that tunes with it. I'm not opposed to travelling an hour or two if I have to.
just wondering how TTS and Thundermax compare. I'm only going to do a stage 2 and will never go wild in the horsepower game
Call fuelmoto and get powervision with the map for the redshift cam and you will be set for anything you do to your bike and it is cheaper than thundermax.
I've ran the Thundermax on my last 3 Harley's and intend on running it on my 2018 RGS when I get around to swapping out cams. IMO it's better than most/all others, just the fact that it uses wide band sensors makes it "leaps & bounds" better than the other tuners.
I have own all the above listed tuner from Power vision, TTS , Screaming Eagle Race Tuner and Thundermax they all do the job if properly tuned by a professional. The big difference is find a local dyno tuner that knows the tuner software in your case Thundermax and get them to tune your bike. You will see so many of these arm chair/seat of the pants dyno tunes on here that will tell you what brand they personal own is the best hand down and so on. If you buy a thundermax and have a good dyno tuner in your area you will be super happy with a Thundermax. Hope this helps enjoy the new ThunderMax its money well spent.
Let's say I decide to get my Indy to install a S&S 475 cam, D&D Billet Cat, Stealth air cleaner, and the Thundermax. He had no dyno. Will a canned tune for that combo put it close enough where I can ride it without issue ? Will the auto tune feature fine dial it in even more?
My last two bikes were Evo's so all this electronic and EFI stuff is new to me

Dyno is always the best option for optimal performance but a canned map will get it close. A couple auto tunes will get it closer still.
