2018 limited noticed bike wasn't right. Have it at the dealership we talked about possible sumping so they checked it out and only had 5oz oil that came out the plug they pull to check factory says 6 oz is a problem. So they factory recommend changing the oil pump and they would supply it for free but I had to pay labor is that right or Bs? So should I have rode the bike till I completely destroyed itself and than had full warranty repair
I think it's bs..if the factory authorized dealership service dept and the MOCO collaborated to determine the cause of your running condition can be attributed to requiring the updated oil pump to resolve the problem then they should be taking care of it all under the factory 2 year limited powertrain warranty...I'd fight over it with them but if they refuse I'd just suck it up and try to have confidence the engine is unlikely to have a recurrence of the same problem
Call the moco and get it straight from the source. Sounds to me like the dealer is trying to double dip - get paid by the moco for labor and also get paid by you
Take it out for a hard ride at high RPMs. End the ride at the dealer when it feels like its losing power. They will fix it under warranty then. If it had 5 oz. 10-12 oz wont be hard to accomplish. Just don't do a bunch of idling before they pull the crank sensor.

This was my first thought as well. You really should call HD directly and they will have record of your claim. You might find out that your Dealer is a Crook. If the story is true and HD says you have to pay anything, I would tell them no thank you leave it as is and drive that bike hard for long periods of time at expressway speeds. They can pay for a completely new engine. I know this from experience. They replaced my Engine 6 months ago on my 2017 SG.
I noticed the op is from ND I think that means North Dakota
I noticed its January
i noticed its his 2nd post
running hard for a few hours to blow it up is tough to do in January in North Dakota and "noticing bike isn't running right on January 3rd" is unusual as well i be freezing culu off before i noticed the torque !!
If you are tougher than me and ride in January I wish you the best of luck with your problems it just seams strange.
