I just bought a TTS and was wondering if anyone had a set of dyno numbers comparing the SE tuner to the TTS on a 131. I was wondering if you gain anything substantial by switching to a TTS? The only thing that is not SE is the Vance and Hines Titan 4.5 slip ons.

The TTS tuner is far superior to the new SE Tuner. The Screamin eagle does not give you a large enough range of adjustability like the old orange 32109-08C Tuner Harley once offered. The one problem you will have with a TTS is once you flash that into your bike, you can never overwrite it with anything else besides a TTS, just something to consider...

Thank you Jim. I've had a TTS tuner before. I was just kind of wondering what I would gain from it vs. the tune that's in it now from the factory. I would love to see the numbers comparing the two.
Depends...as they say
If you use only the SE line of products, the SE tuner will keep you in compliance with the EPA/CARB/DOT. You cannot request a change to the AFR desired, displacement change, injector change, etc, and the SE tuner has limited adjustment. VE tables (airflow) allow +/- 4% from baseline in the closed loop areas, and +/- 10% adjustment in the hi load/open loop areas. Timing tables offer +/-3° closed loop, to up to +/-6° in the open loop areas. Probably adequate from a performance/efficiency standpoint, EPA friendly, warranty intact, most riders would accept as "typical MOCO offering".
If you chose non-SE components that flow more air than the SE counterpart, there is a very real risk that the SE tuner cannot provide enough adjustment to even keep the bike within EPA parameters, & may result in drivability issues. The further from stock/SE you go, the more likely the SE tuner will be inadequate, both from a performance aspect, and from a drivability aspect.

Thank you for the very well thought out and informative reply. I went with the 131 kit and all SE parts. The only thing that is not SE is my Vance and Hines mufflers. The kit seems like it has all the bases covered with the up sized throttle body and CNC ported heads, etc... I was just wondering how much better it would perform with a TTS and a dyno.
The reason I asked all this to begin with is that I feel there's so much left on the table that the SE tuner is holding back. Not just performance but efficiency too. My 17 had a Stage 3 with a TTS tuner and after the dyno, I couldn't have asked for a better running bike. 45-50 mpg and horses to spare. She was 125/125. Perfectly balanced. I wonder if I could do the same with this 131. I realize the warranty goes out the window but if I could get a good comparison between the exact same setup that I have with the SE tuner vs. the TTS, I could then have the info and weigh the factors before deciding. I can't seem to find a set of dynos that show what I'm looking for. I do appreciate the information you supplied though.
Look for GMR on fakebook- He has done a few 131s using TTS tuners and cams
Thank you again. I don't have Facebook anymore but my wife does and I'll try to search for it when we get home this evening. If the dividends are high enough, I will pull the trigger.

Can't go wrong with GMR. Steve is the best around hands down for harley builds and tuning 💪
