Default Intake seals

Ok, searched and found a couple older threads about issues with intake seals not sealing, but that was with stock tb with the plastic intake manifold. I just put together an S&S 124 build on my M8. I got the SE 64mm tb and used the stock flanges and the new seals that came with the tb. Did a few heat cycles at home before taking it to be dyno'd. Sprayed non-chlorinated brake cleaner on the intake and exhaust ports to check for any leaks, all was good. During the break-in and tune things were going well up to a point. After a while the bike started showing some erratic signs on the dyno. We got up to 133hp/140tq before the intake leak presented itself. It showed no signs of a leak until toward the end once it had some time on it and some heat in it. When checking it for leaks it immediately died when the rear intake port was sprayed. It had just the slightest lowering of idle when the front intake was sprayed. Since I didn't have time to search local dealers for new seals I loaded back up and drove home. Driving out of town today to get two new seals. Now after that long story here is my question. Has anyone else had this issue with the SE 64mm tb and the new seals that come with it? I fully understand there is always the possibility that I may have done something to the seal when installing or it could just be a fluke bad seal. What did get my attention though when I was putting it together was how loose the brand new seals fit down in the flanges on the intake. I remember thinking to myself that it didn't look like it was going to get much squeeze or compression when tightened up. Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has encountered this or heard of it or even if there may be a thicker aftermarket seal that might work better.

How were the seals installed? Did you lube them and the manifold spigot first? Did you properly align the manifold with AC installed prior to tightening the screws? Were the flanges bent? Did you shine light through the intake and verify the seals did not creep in to the intake ports? I use a little dishwashing liquid for lube.

Have the heads been decked a bunch?

Yes I lubed the seals and spigots and I aligned it with the AC and tightened everything together to make sure nothing was in a bind. Not saying I couldn't have pinched anything or done something myself to cause this, just seeing if anyone else has seen this. I did not however shine a light inside to check the seals, I'll do that before I take it back apart.

The other thing that could cause it is if the manifold would need to be trimmed slightly at the ends, but that is usually the case only when cylinder height or head deck height has changed, but I would line it up without flanges on it and see how it fits the heads.
