You've put a 1000 miles on since last fall? Unless you live in the arctic circle or a rain forest that's a pretty low number of miles. After changing the oil ... promptly have the bike shipped to me for some actual mileage to be put on it. In your case you should go synthetic since it's going to be in the bike for about 3 years before you hit the 5k service. Yes I'm d-bag...see ya at the rally.
I've been guilty of this type of response in the past and have learned the hard way to be careful of judging too soon..seen several replies about illness, injury, divorce, moving, work etc. that made me apologize..just sayin'
I'll start with: It clearly states which one to use.
I've used them all, Amsoil, Royal Purple, Redline, Mobile.. My preference is the oil that came in the bike when I bought it. HD in all 3 holes. Never an issue but to each their own.

I've always used Mobile 1 in my "Old" stuff. I'm sure you know H-D does not make Oil so I'd bet you $10.00 that one of the companies mention does.
You have been a member of this forum long enough to read a zillion posts, and you ask this same old beaten to death question, in the wrong section of the forum no less?
Not sure what type oil is best for a bike that is in storage...

I go about 7K in between oil changes. If I didn't I'd be changing my oil three times a year. I ride an average of 9-12k a year and drive almost 27K. I use Syn in everything I drive. let it go longer between changes.

D bag, (DimeBagDarrel) got shot in Columbus Ohio a few years back!
Anyways, I'm in Ohio. Weather turned to **** right after I got it late last October. Been raining all spring. Look at your TV. 60 yes old and NEVER seen the fields untouched in my life. Not a hardcore biker like you, but I enjoy a lil putt to clear the head when I get a chance. Got another bike too.
As for my post, looks like there's a good share of responses leaning the way I was thinking, reg "DINO" oil. Thanx to all of you, Hardcore too.! Lol.
I can tell you that probably most people who get their 1k service done at the dealer get talked into synthetic.
Thanx ol buddy! Thanx for being observant enough to see the question. I don't think it's irrelevant to this section, but whadda I know? Keep dry my friend! P.S., if forums were only for extremely experienced / genius', wouldn't be many new members! Lotta ******* haters out there. Must be miserable? Rant over. Lol.
