Joining the oil beat to death controversy. CVOs are factory filled with SYN3 in all 3 holes. Marketing, manufacturing time saver, or is it that good.....
Just my opinion but SYN3 is garbage. It's not fully synthetic it's made by Citgo. Why would anyone run an engine oil in the primary or transmission?? Waste of money, it's the wrong viscosity for that application.
You have been a member of this forum long enough to read a zillion posts, and you ask this same old beaten to death question, in the wrong section of the forum no less?
Not sure what type oil is best for a bike that is in storage...
BTW A.H, where would you have posted this question?
I run Formula + in the primary and transmission. I am leery about synthetics on the clutch plates, and I want to run the same oils in both cases due to possible fluid transfer. I run conventional oil for the engine under advisement of my performance-parts supplier. Fueling has said that conventional oil reduces oil consumption, a claim which I can neither confirm nor deny, but I can say I have no oil consumption on my bike. That's all I'm going to say about that.

I'm using same types of oils in my 2019 Low Rider, except I use gear oil in the transmission.
Every time I see this kinda thread, and these kinda replies I always ask myself the same question:
How many people have actually had (not heard of, know a guy, former roommates 2nd uncle) an oil related failure.
And if so...was it based on the type, or LACK of oil.
I've always maintained my position of lack of oil, not brand is a cause of failure.
All these old timers with 100K on the clock before synthetic was available.
Change it regularly, maintain proper levels and check semi often.
The rest is a poker game.
Not a member of the all new M8. If you want a good oil go with VR1. You want to learn about oil read this link. Probly to much reading for most, but at least take a look at the ranking list and what he thinks of motorcycle oil.
