So I attempted to change out my derby cover on my 2019 Roadglide when some type of liquid came out of the bottom when I loosened the last nut. I immediately closed and tightened everything back....BUT...did I jack something up? Thanks for any input.
The fluid in the primary behind the derby cover is sometimes near the top of the opening particularly when the bike is on the jiffy stand. It actually should be lower than that. I would put a pan under, remove the cover and let the oil come out until it stops. Clean up the seating are and put the new cover on. The other option is put the bike on a jack to level and remove the cover. No oil would be expected to come out in that instance.
On a side note, and I am sure others will chime in, you may want to read your owners manual and check the transmission fluid level to ensure it is not low.

Thanks man, I appreciate the quick reply. I thought I messed something up.

I hate to be the one to mention this, but you could have transfer from the trans. to the primary. That may be the reason it's overfull. Just check the trans. fluid and make sure it's ok, if not, you may want to take it to a dealer, or at least give your dealer a call.
I thought my 2019 was going to be ok but at 4000 miles or so it started transferring the fluid, so I've got to make the call to see what I can work out.
