Stopped in a dealer last week by Buckhorn P.A. ,real nice folks and honest too.. I asked your very questions to them, they said both issues have been resolved on the late 19's and new 20's.. For what it's worth..I don't think they would lie about it,at least I hope not..
3500 miles on my 2020 today and all's well. I was having issues with a check engine light coming on in the cold. It was a communication error code between computers. Took it in and the tech found an unfastened connector. Now it doesn't throw codes anymore. And the dern thing rides better every time I get on it. These really do break in nicely. Probably should have bought a used one.
Glad to hear you are enjoying your new bike..I really hope the issues have been resolved.. I would like to buy a new machine in a year or so and really have been hesitant to.. They had some beautiful bikes on the floor, really tempting..

I remember when I ordered my 18 StreetGlide in November of 17 and I asked the owner who was doing the deal about the transfer problem, which had just came to light and he said everything was fixed not to worry, fast forward to July 18 and mine was transferring, sometimes they say anything to make a sale. Not saying yours is lying but take it with a grain of salt.
Go for the 2020. With the new oil pump and primary vent your odds of an issue are far lower than the M8s built between 2017-2019. Still preliminary evidence but the lack of initial sumping or primary migration reports with the 2020s is encouraging.
Might consider waiting to see what the 2020 liquid-cooled Indian Touring bike looks like after its launch tomorrow 10/29.

I had a couple dealers tell me the issues are fixed. Significant because both dealers over the last 3 years have denied there was an issue. Leads me to believe they are confident with the fix.

Sumping may well in fact be solved, but I still say its impossible to say right now based on the lack of miles on these bikes, and those dealers are still blowing smoke.
I bought a 2020 on the assumption/hope they are fixed (after having many many problems on a 17) and so far so good, but anyone who claims that its definitely fixed is full of it.
Well guys I m going to wait till spring anyway until the verdict is in on the new 2020 models. I've waited longer than I normally do to make a trade, I'll wait a little longer. I really don't want to make a mistake, and Lord knows I don't want the added stress and aggravation if there is any issues.
