As always, you are welcome to your opinions but not the facts. Polls are meaningless as there are far more members of HDF that are silent readers that never post than there are members that post like you and I. Suggesting you somehow KNOW what others think is absurd. Instead of feeling the need to attack other's opinions, try sharing your own opinions instead of attacking the posters you disagree with. Far more valuable to everyone reading.
I would actually be very interested in your views on how the market will likely respond to the 2020 Touring bikes (the general theme of this thread) or the LiveWire or the Adv bikes. I'm very open to hearing different opinions on whether others think HD can turn the corner in terms of market acceptance and growing the business with the 2020 bikes. But just ignoring the current declines will change nothing. I personally want to see the company growing again so that we can all enjoy new innovations from a company that's adding new manufacturing plants instead of closing them and selling new models that are of interest to all of us.
maybe in a thread on the subject instead of this unrelated one..oh wait, all those HD Financials ones get locked...
maybe in a thread on the subject instead of this unrelated one..oh wait, all those HD Financials ones get locked...
The Financial threads get locked because they immediately turn into personal attacks by those that don't what the financials discussed when they reflect poorly on HD. I get it. That's the whole point of the personal attacks ... to put the financial facts behind the curtain when they disappoint. I can guarantee the threads won't be shut down when/if HD's financials turn positive. I'd rather face them and discuss them, without personal invective regardless of whether the results are positive or negative. But I guess that's just not possible with those of you that support HD so strongly that anything negative must immediately be shut down by attacking those that present the financial facts.
This thread was referencing the 2020 models and the likelihood of sumping and fluid transfer. Essentially asking whether or not the 2020 models are going to be successful because sumping is addressed with a new oil pump and transfer is addressed with a primary vent. The only measure of whether or not the 2020s will be "successful" will be determined if HD returns to financial and sales growth with the 2020s. Which is exactly on-point to the thread topic.
Just once I'd like to have a thread not turn childish.
I have been a forum admin for over 15 years (forum unrelated to HD).
It is an absolute truth: 99% of a forum's problems are caused by 1% of the membership.
If you have a little rock in your shoe, you will be miserable... until you take the minor but necessary action, remove the rock, and enjoy the unrelenting bliss of being rock-free.
I would like to buy this ultra limited..Have the sumping and migration of trans oil been fixed?
Peace and Prayers
When a new model comes out there are always bugs to get worked out and my general rule is to never buy a first model year car or motorcycle. I wanted a 2017 Street Glide but was hesitant. I read about the transmission fluid transfer and was sure Id get a bike with that issue. I waited and bought a 2018 Street Glide. Of course mine had the fluid transfer issue. Then I also got a recall notice about the clutch actuator. It looks like Id have to have waited for a 2020 model (maybe mid 2019?) to avoid both of those issues. I hear what your saying when you ask your question. It sounds to me like the fluid transfer issue is probably solved. I cant comment on the sumping. My thought is youre better off with a 2020 than with a 2017 or 2018.
I questioned Feuling and S&S about the 2020 bomb and they both told me that neither their bombs nor this 2020 is 100% Sumping's solution with no guarantee !!
