Yep. Check this one out ..

The way you describe how you like to ride,I would definitely look into the H-D 128-131 kits... Sounds like you have done some research and definitely have a great list of parts there .... Make sure you talk to whoever is doing the build and tell them exactly how you plan on using the bike and what you want out of the motor!!! Very IMPORTANT part of the build process... Keep us updated on your plans and happy shopping my friend....

But I do like the idea of saving a little money to be used for something else.

Thanks again for the feedback !
I really don't think HD would be launching their new 131 and 128 M8 engines if they didn't have a high confidence that the sumping issue has been fully addressed with the latest 2020 8-lobe oil pump. Here's the part numbers:

The 2020 Oil Pump kit P/N for 2017-2019 Twin-Cooled M8 is 62400248. This kit includes:

62400055 Gerotor Assy (Water)
62400242
Oil Pump Assy (Water)
62400245 Cover w/Seal (same for both Air & Water)

On Surdyke the 2020 Twin-cooled
oil pump kit is shown discounted at $112. http://www.surdyke.com/PartsMain.asp...Name=&CatName=

The 2020 Oil Pump kit P/N for 2017-2019 Oil-Cooled M8 is 62400247. This kit includes:

62400126 Gerotor
62400238
Oil Pump Assembly
62400245 Rear Pump Cover and Seal

On Surdyke the 2020 Oil-cooled
oil pump kit is shown discounted at $109. http://www.surdyke.com/PartsMain.asp...Name=&CatName=

Chris, can you point out what you see at that point in the video. Outside of the large piece of metal stuck to the magnetic drain plug, I’m not sure.. Thanks.

It’s a piece of the clutch basket that broke off.

Thought the OEM clutch basket was aluminum. Aluminum is not ferrous and would not stick to a magnet.

I've been researching same lately. Will be doing 107 to 124 build on the FLHT in next year or so. Will be working with FM. Have always been very happy with their stuff. Upgrades will include SE metal intake, 5.5 injectors on stock TB, 2020 oil pump kit. Primarily FM kit contents. Not sure on clutch yet, installed 1250 NM SE springs and seems to be much improved clamping while beating on my warranty compliant stage II. Probably not rated high enough for potential power level. FM input will determine exact components.

Just that we are not getting the whole story. There is metal stuck to the end of the drain plug .. but he only mentions damage to the basket which is aluminum. There has to be other damage.
Kind of thing ya got to watch out for on the web .. know ?

Afternoon guys,

I got some more information from the horses mouth related to the build I am considering that I wanted to share.

I went to S+S and asked if their oil pump fixed the M8 sumping problem. Their email response is given below. Now my question is.. If I am running the same risk as the current stock pump AND the 2020 pump; which really hasn't been proven, and the S+S which could fail also. Then why not just buy the Harley 2020 pump ? Know ?

Now over to p/n 62400238 to see if there is really a difference tween the S+S and the Harley.

Does the M8 Oil pump and cam plate correct the M8s sumping issues ?
No it does not, our pump has dual scavenging and other features but does not cure the issues the the M8 has.
