sorry OP, RT has a habit of popping in from time to time to incite things..anyway, back OT..like Keth said..there's a lot of HD backorder stuff going on, coupled with the 2020s being out 6 months now and your problem being the first time recall hearing of this, think your suspicion of it being a larger problem is premature at this point anyway..hope it gets fixed soon
op I feel your pain, years ago I bought a new bike of a different brand. one day I notice a oil spot on the case just below the jug so I wiped it off. next day it was there again. took it back to the dealer. found out it had a pin hole in the casting right at an oil passage. had 175 miles on it. the manufacturer made them replace that case half. took them a month to fix it.
Thank you all fanboys. I think it's safe to say EVERYONE'S issues are real, and worth noting on here. Don't ever feel intimidated to post here all. HD needs to step up their game. Especially if they want to continue to price bikes at 30K to 40K+. I am a fanboy myself, but I do have expectations.

Yeah, it's crazy. I have been ordering parts since September, and nothing has come in before 3 weeks. It took 6 weeks for my throttle body, and injectors. I have the CVO seats on order, and I am hoping they come in before my trip in May!
As for casting flaws, it sucks, but I see it often in my line of work. I have seen it across all makes of engines, transmissions, differentials, etc. Some are just too hard to spot after final machining, and only exhibit an issue when they heat up and expand. Of course, it's us lucky owners that get to see the first leak...never during inspection before delivery!

just buy a brand new one and ride it for 500 miles and it gets louder all on its own! wife and I rode yesterday, came home and noticed this on her Tri Glide
Start here and read all the post he made in this thread. If you have further questions, let me know. The forum no longer allows people to delete post. I can even go back and post every issue of his that was a crisis, if you like. I say we just move forward with the op's thread and point.
