Who has a weird idle on their M8???

Handlebar kill switch is all I have on my 18 Heritage.

Seriously...they all do that. Not initially in the 17s, but Harley made the change, and it’s in their map,updates as well, to prevent stalling.

I wasn't aware of that obviously, as of 19 touring bikes with FOB still have an ignition switch. Must have been a cost saving thing.

My 17 FLHSX didn't and my 19 does not. Is there any documentation of this anti stall feature in the map or how did you come by this info?

The physical key(s) that came with my ‘18 Heritage only works the fork lock and saddlebags locks..... Takes some time to get use to just flipping a switch when getting on or off....

Yeah, and once you get used to it then switch to an older model you tend to flip the switch and leave the ignition on. I have done this when riding my wife's 2010 Tri Glide. Luckily haven't left it on for very long.

Its really an "ease of operation" thing...ignition integrated into the Run/Stop switch only turns on with key FOB in close proximity to the bike...only 1 button to turn On or Off to operate the bike.
