Does anyone else have a 2020 or older model, with the primary vent, that is still transferring? My 2020 road glide seemed to have an over filled primary when I did the 1k service but I didnt measure the fluids. Now I have 4400 miles and Ive had to top off the trans twice and I also drained 12 ounces from the primary, currently have redline in trans and hd primary fluid In primary, which has turned pinkish red. I called the dealer but I cant bring my bike in for service because its my only transportation till I buy a car in a few months, they dont offer loaner bikes and I cant afford a rental with this virus crap. so for now Im gonna run formula+ in both holes. Has anyone else had this issue with the vent installed and was there a solution that fixed it.

think you're the first person I heard of since primary vent installed that is reporting a fluid transfer problem, with tons of owners reporting primary vent solved their problem,...my 2020 RGS with 6000 miles is perfect
My 2017 FLHXSE continued to xfer after I installed the vent, but only in super hot temperatures (it gets hotter than Hell in the Arizona desert). However, after I dumped the SYN-3 and started putting the H-D Gear Oil in both the tranny and the primary, oil transfer stopped completely. Go figure.

what change in clutch and shifting behavior have you observed since going with their 80W140..just curious....I'll stick with Formula+ as always on mine but might consider the 80W140 HD synthetic for wife's CVO Tri Glide instead of the SYN3..thanks
I replaced the Syn3 in my primary a few weeks ago, when I replaced my clutch pack, with the new HD Gear Oil. So far, I've still got the Syn3 in the tranny, but I aim to replace that with the HD gear oil pretty soon.
The only difference I can detect is the absence of a "plinking" sound. I had been hearing this sound during deceleration as I work the gear box down shift. Most noticeable just as I come to a stop, probably during moments with clutch pulled. I was starting to wonder whether this noise was caused by a worn set of clutch plates, and was curious if replacing the plates, which I'd already planned to do, would eliminate the plinking noises. Now, the plinking sounds are gone. Since I changed the clutch plates with new oem (10-plate) and replaced the Syn3 in the primary at the same time, I'm not sure whether the noise reduction was caused by the new plates, or the heavier oil. Maybe a bit of both?
Damn Camaro, that certainly sounds like transfer. 1st time it’s been reported on the forum with the vent kit. Check to make sure the vent was installed, and report back. There should be a rubber tube coming out of the back of the outer primary/cover at about 2:00.

It helped a little, but not enough. Coming off of a different "twin" brand, I've never been comfortable with H-D's "thunk" shifting from neutral to first (simply can't be good for the drivetrain). The change to H-D's gear oil helped this a little. I later learned that by double-clutching before shifting into 1st pretty much made the "thunk" go away.
I recently installed the Baker compensator sprocket and a Rekluse clutch (see https://www.hdforums.com/forum/milwa...questions.html). I'm not sure which component made the biggest difference, but the "thunk" is nearly gone. I'm still not happy and will be installing the Bakersmooth-shift kit next.
