All the bad things I said about my Billet cat, I take it all back 🤣 I just needed some perspective I guess.
my XXX header is for sale in the classifieds. I swapped my S&S 550 cam back in it too since I have a dyno tune for that setup already, I gotta say, the 408 cam is good, but the 550 cam is more my style. Yeah its a little softer on the bottom but holy crap the motor just revs so hard and aggressive in that 3000-5000 range. D&D ha also made a couple changes to the pipe since I bought my original one. The rear header pipe doesnt do as big of a radius so its not a pain to check the transmission oil anymore.
I purchased one of their first Billet Cat 2:1 systems for the M8. I too was not impressed. I recently added a cam and for whatever reason, I can now really hear that exhaust and it has a nice bark to it. I had not heard of any redesign on their Billet Cat but I could have missed it. Glad your's worked out!
I installed a Billet Cat in March of '19. No problems checking tranny oil, or any other problems at all. I love the performance, look, and quality of D&D pipes. I've had three, two Fat Cats and now a Billet Cat.
Here you can see what Im talking about, this is my old billet cat and my new. The back header pipe is different. They also added some sort of ring to the end of the header that the muffler butts up against now, not sure what thats for. You can kinda see it in the pictures. Super happy I went back, I love this pipe. 😁
Ha! You are going to wear out the bolts on that engine! Looks great, and can't wait to see what the dyno sheet shows this time
i actually had the dyno tune from before saved on my power vision still, so I just put it back in. Not going back to the dyno it made 143 horsepower and 137ft lbs with this setup in 5th gear before.
