they did clean the filter the first time this happened. but now that the oil level is at the right spot it looks like any future looking into it will be on my own dime. I will just clean it all up and keep a close eye on the oil level. hopefully as oldmike suggested it is just from the previous incident working its way out.
Just a thought as all of these symptoms seem to be very similar to oil sumping. when i noticed the oil was after about 15-20 minutes on continuous 60-70 mph. between the constant speed and frothy look of the oil when i checked it immediately after slowing down. Like i said bike just had the new 2020 pump put in but the symptoms appear to be the same.
Just some food for thought conversation, you have a 19 fxdr, not an expert on those but I assume it's the dyna replacement or at least has the same motor as the rest of the lineup with m8's? Anyway, I think in mid 19 they changed over to the new 8 lobe oil pump with a oil pump plate seal, just wondering if you got that or got that done depending on what month your bike is. That much oil overfilled, would **** me off, that mark on your dipstick looks like at minimum half quart if not more. And technically probably a full quart more than most everybody here fills them up to (usually half way in dipstick dots). Hopefully it was just excess in breathers that had to work itself out. But it should of been recorded or documented in some sort when you had to go back in to get the oil drained. So at this point if it was me, keep an eye on it, but after about 500 miles of some cam break in, I'd open the hell out of that throttle to see how that story will develop. Good Luck man.
You're worrying too much. You obviously like to give it some throttle. Do some sort of vent for your air cleaner and this will not be an issue. Expecting a dealer to deal with this is something I would not do. Their capabilities (as you have shown) are limited at best.
Their are numerous threads on the subject. I recently installed a cam in my M8 as well. I had slight misting of oil on my rear head pipe. Far less than you. I added a different breather (oil tank) and have not had a return of the issue.
I do still plan on venting my air cleaner as well. Find an indy shop who is well known and knows what he is doing and your life will be so much easier.
@cactusred I had them put the new 2020 oil pump when the did the cam swap.
I finally found the culprit. When i took off my air cleaner to get the oil off i noticed they had the breather tube aimed directly down at the air filter not even remotely towards the opening of the throttle body. I ran the tube back through the right way and took the bike out on the exact same trip it was spitting oil and had absolutely nothing. Glad it was a stupid fix and not something major.

Good to hear bud. You may consider doing one of those external breather setups, so all that stuff that was on your filter, also, is not burning on top of your pistons. Just a thought is all. Ride safe man.
