I helped my brother put in a cam and the new oil pump in his twin cooled 2018 CVO limited. We added 4 quarts of oil and the tune, started it. Warned it up and checked the oil. showed 1 quart low. I suggested add only 1/2 quart only. He started it and it was idling for about 2 minutes and all of a sudden clang clang clang. Shut it off and checked the oil. Barely touching the stick. How can this be? Anyone else have a problem with the newest pump?
Clang clang clang after cam and oil pump sounds more likely to be poor installation job than faulty part
And you know this how? Real helpful there mj, you forgot to tell him that he should have kept it stock like yours yada-yada
Couple things, what else did you do while you had the cam chest apart? Clang could be push rods, how many miles on the lifters?
Are you certain that you put the O rings on the new pump? Missing O ring on the suction side will not pull the oil out of the sump.

He's going to check the push rods this weekend. New woods lifters, fuel moto push rods, and Woods 22x-e cam, and bearing. O rings placed correct. we double check that on the install.
Typically you add 4 .5 qts on an oil & filter change, although I only add 4.25 myself. Then you opened the cam chest, that holds about 8 oz. Sounds like the level is about right after only adding 4.5 Qt's

didnt say I knew what the problem was..just thinking they tore into it and installed new internal parts and directly afterwards engine noises, pretty unreasonable observation on my part it could possibly be installation issues right? And thanks for reminding me about my bike, almost forgot!!!
