FM has some good dyno charts on the 2. I choose the 22X over the 22XE. The reason was the 22X torque came on a little earlier .
I tend to ride in the lower end of the RPMs.
It does run good. The VH exhaust may hold you bad some.

Key take away, yep FM. I did as what was mentioned above on my 17SGS, ordered pieces here and there. On my 2020 RGL, I called FM and bought most everything from them except my VH air cleaner which I brought from my SGS. I told them about the bike, my riding habits, sometimes 2up, etc. They highly recommended the XE on my application. Did that cam, lifters, tappet blocks, S/S oil pump and cam plate, jackpot 2/1/2 header, outlaw mufflers, g3 carbonite clutch, all through them.
Both cams are great. XE generates power a little later but longer. I have the 22X cam and it generates a lot of liw end torque and is a lot of fun to ride. My friends have the XE cam and they love them as well. So just decide if you want super low end torque (22X)or a lot of low end (22XE) torque then pick.
Thats what I did,,, went with a Fuel moto setup 22X cam for my style of riding and also upgrade the oil pump since I didnt have the rear seal on the pump and also an Pv with their tune installed

I've been researching the stage 2 upgrades for several weeks with the goal of getting it 100% right the first time. I already know I'm stopping at stage 2, so I want to get maximum useful performance and satisfaction without do-overs. To that end I consulted with my local HD dealer, Fuel Moto, and about 5 different riders who have done similar things to the M8 114.
First off I have an RDRS bike which does utilize a different tune (vs non-RDRS bikes) and I heard a consensus on the 22XE cam. I'm not an engine builder or tuner. I don't have a dyno tuner anywhere near my home. I went to the experts at Fuel Moto and...after discussions on the other peripherals like head pipe, mufflers, inserts, air cleaner and so on....the decision for me was the 22XE.
I seriously believe I would be happy with either, and I don't believe I'm getting something better from the XE over the X cam. Wood Performance describes the XE as an updated X cam with more tq & hp along with that great lope & cadence. I trusted FM enough to go with their recommendation after considering the above peripherals, my riding style, shift points (rpm), typical roads and 2-up riding. I particularly liked that Fuel Moto advised me against buying unneeded mechanicals like a different oil pump, cam plate and so on. I stayed well within my budget and will have an integrated stage 2 package. I'll be doing the install this next week...and yes, I'm actually stoked about it.

Can you share what the other Stage 2 components will be? Do you already have slip ons? Are you changing the head pipe or leaving it stock?
All I have changed so far are my slip ons. Currently running SE Street Cannons. I like the look (4.5" size, slash cut end caps) and sound so would most likely prefer to keep them.

The dealer that built my bike did that work. Through Fuel Moto I'm going with their Jackpot 2-1-2 Stainless Head Pipe. I've heard both opinions on change/don't change head pipes, and I felt like a stage 2 with the stock headers would have me always thinking I'd left TQ and HP on the table. I'll be keeping the Ventilator AC as Fuel Moto said it was excellent and any gains from changing to another AC would be very minimal for my setup. Wood 22XE cam, Wood lifters, FM adjustable push rods. I'm adding a set of the S&S Billet Tappet Cuffs to replace the stock HD plastic pieces. FM straight up told me to keep my KW mufflers, which now have the KW Torque Monster Inserts in them. I'm counting on the big 4.5 pipes and those db-reducing inserts to balance out the increased volume of the no-cat head pipe. Finally, FM assured me they had a spot-on map for the Power Vision Dyno Jet tuner and my overall specs, including RDRS. There was zero hesitancy from Bob at Fuel Moto and I came away from the conversation feeling extremely confident. The package price of the items below, plus the head pipe (not shown) came to just over $1800 with shipping.
Everyone has their own preferences and methods. All I could suggest to you (based on my very limited experience) is to contact a well known and trusted engine builder or tuner for your questions. I could not be more pleased with or trusting of a company than Fuel Moto. I believe your Street Cannons are very good and I see no reason not to keep them.

Thanks so much for the response! When ready, my plan is to speak to Fuel Moto for sure. I've had some past experience with them on my previous bike and was always impressed with their service & willingness to help. Just wish they had a Canadian division Unfortunately we have very few options when it comes to bike parts & accessories, and for that matter most stuff (golf equipment, etc) sourced from the US. We can expect to add an easy 30 - 40% once we factor in exchange, customs, brokerage, shipping, etc. Oh well...it the price we pay for having fun
