Has anyone removed their useless hd connect module? Thinking about removing mine to give me a bit more room for amps and such. Will it throw any codes? Local deslwr said it might but they thought maybe they could flash it after I remove it.
I think there was an earlier thread on this. I've removed it and the bike won't start, plug it back in and she runs. I also found if you un blot it and let it hang or sit sideways it thinks the bike fell over and won't start. Never followed up with it but a dealer is supposed to be able to flash the bike to turn it off.
One day maybe ill get to it.

You sure you're talking abiut the hd connect module? ive had mine removed from the bracket, still plugged in though, and zip tied under the radio for almost 2 years now with no issues.

Is it sitting level? When i was setting up the amp in mine as long as i kep it in the same position I didn't have a problem starting the engine.
I dint know if all the touring bikes came with module and I was under the impression it had to activated to do anything until harley decided to cancel the service. I personally liked it but 100 bucks a year was a little much. This is the connect module right?
glad I read this thread. my guess is that's got to be it?!?! Was thinking about removing it too. But now im thinking of placing a sign on it like "self destruct button do not touch"
I recall there was another start up fee or add on so maybe it does nothing on some bikes if they never added the subscription
