Stock decatted headpipe, cvo muffs with Fullsac cores. With aftermarket pipes you can squeeze out the max power and torque provided you match everything up. Over exhausting can be an issue as well. Fullsac has a sport pipe that works well. Had one on a cammed twin cam.
Ok, so I did the head pipe de-cat over the weekend. Cleaned it out, honed it out, etc. It is just slightly louder now with my neighbor haters at idle and noticeably deeper in sound/tone. Heat where the cat was is approximately 125° cooler. The bike sounds great idling and cruising. Gets a lot louder when you get on it. Very happy with the results overall.
How is the V&H Power Dual header on the M8 in terms of power?
Cant really say. I was originally going to go with Vance & Hines power duals but decided on the Jackpot 2-1-2 header. I personally didnt care for the look of the power duals and heard about losing a little clearance and guys scraping pipes on tighter right turns? Not for me. I will be using my current Cobra 909s with the new Jackpot header.
Catalytic converter is non restrictive so removing it won't make it "louder", that said, I run a full cobra 🐍 pro chamber head pipe and neighbor haters, had the haters prior, did a tune and it sounds good to me, obnoxious, hardly...the moniker of "neighbor haters" is a bit of an embellishment, but I like my exhaust. Busting open the motor for a cam in these 114 M8's isn't something on my radar to achieve sound or a few more ponies. It's a Harley "road bike", ride it!
Thats true but however the stock head pipes are not a hi flow converter and yes by removing the stock converter it does change the sound a lot not a little but a lot now a lot of the aftermarkets has an hi flow converter that do change a lot of the sound from just removing it but yes a stock head pipe with converter does change the sound a lot might loose some torque but a lot more sound
I had a Vance & Hines power pipe prior to talking to GMR my tuner. He said get rid of that and decat the stock pipe. Thats what I did and have 132/122 on a 114. With only a cam change. The muffs are CVO with Fulsac baffles
