the cable clutch Harleys I had, softail and touring 07, 09, 13 and 15 would fade in hot Summer temps in traffic..at times so bad had to go find a place to sit it out....never an issue with hydraulic...screw that crap
Well they don't do that any more, after 1 1/2 years of owning one...
my hydraulic had the "fading" issue and i have seen plenty of other posts here over the last few years with folks that have had issues. You have been very lucky, my friend. I never had that issue with the cable clutch with any of the harley bikes i've owned. Harley didn't go back to cable because the hydraulics were working so well.
'22 SGS. 50 miles on it. It's going back to the dealer for a cosmetic issue so I'm not messing with this but I'm curious if anyone else has had a slipping clutch on the "new" cable clutches? 1st 50 miles I was easy on her and didn't notice a thing. At 50 miles I did a couple 4th gear roll-ons and it definitely lets go around 3500 or so. Kinda odd to me as none of my previous harleys have ever had a clutch slip. I'd assume this is just an adjustment issue? The engagement point is all the way out on the lever for sure.
Please have your clutch adjusted or adjust it yourself and come back on here and let us know the results...they do need re-adjustment (when new) in a fairly short period of time...
if I get another Harley down the road with a cable clutch I'll consider it a downgrade
this^^^^
remember when they announced cable replaced hydraulic, and how many people were upset and complaining? yes, that was the sentiment, for a reason....nothing being said here about cable over hydra can change my mind

You usually hand out great insight when people have problems...just not this time...there is nothing wrong with the cable clutches on the last 2 MY bikes...haven't read a lot about "clutch fade" on this forum either...hey you got a problem with cable clutches, that's your opinion, but spreading that cable clutches have clutch fade problems that you really can't prove isn't right either...
Its everyone's own prerogative to like or dislike cable clutches as they see fit...I happen to like mine a lot and nothing being said here about cable over hydraulic can change my mind.

all I did was speak to and share my personal experience with owning both over very long periods of time and miles.....it may not be what some want to hear but it was fact for me and exactly why I prefer the one over the other..there are many Harley touring bike owners here and everywhere that prefer hydraulic clutches over cable...I'm not even sure if there even are other motorcycle manufacturers that equip their top of the line motorcycles with cables these days

All of my previous Harleys had hydraulic clutches and I liked those...now I've got a Harley with a cable clutch and I like that too, but no more, no less than the hydraulic clutch...if it was doing something incorrectly, I'd be the first one to complain about it...its a means to an end, is all.
Anyway, not going to lose any more of my Sat nite trying to change your mind, which your not going to change anyway...peace out...

I'd do it myself but this issue gets the bike picked up by the dealer.
FWIW, this is my 3rd M8 SGS. They never went back even when one lost a cyl temp sensor. I just bought it and replaced it. That's easier than the 1.5hr trip with two vehicles twice.
To add in this, this is our 3rd M8 and had 2 rushmore TC's prior along with an 07 Standard. The Hyd is fancier but I do prefer the feel of this cable. I don't prefer the harder pull. I'm in Florida and have not experienced fade on any of them.
