lol these comments. I have a CVO seat on my RGS.....OMG string me up! Im a poser!
I bought the seat cause I sat on one and it felt good, I like the styling and the stitching matched my laguna orange bike and matches my scorched orange bike now even better. No one has ever commented to me ...oh that's a CVO seat, you shouldn't have that on your bike. Even guys I ride with that own CVOs.
Let it go! Its a harley bar and shield badge.
I think if it's a VIN-restricted item, that should be your first clue.
Whatever you decide to do to removed the mark, try it first on the underside of the tank where it won’t show. It it’s adhesive, I’ve always found WD40 good to remove it,
Its true. Even my dealer basically said it ages and takes Ona mottled finish.
To be fair, Ive been painting rat bikes matte black for years with a rattle can haha when they get scratched you just blow them over with another can of matte black.
I wouldnt buy another denim finish bike as you end up with a scruffy bike thats actually meant to look scruffy.
I have a truck that I painted flat black in my garage with a spray gun for the same reason. The thought never crossed my mind to put the polisher to it, but I figured if I did, it'd still be just as flat. Turns out that's not likely the case.
I think all this stuff looks cool, it's just a shame that there's no repairing it at all it sounds like, although in the OP's case, it sounds like the unweathered spot may eventually weather until it looks like the rest of it.
WOW, the man asked a question about paint and changing emblems. Never once mentioned or asked about CVO parts, so don't know why that had to be mentioned. I've had two CVO's and could care less if others had CVO parts, in fact I sold parts to guys and thought it looked great (better than on my CVO). To include the Bar and Shield emblems, as I didn't care for it much on my bike but they looked great on the bike they went too. Here's a thought, if it bothers you that much start your own thread on that topic and leave this to the OP's question. You can name it "How I hate that people put CVO parts on their bike because it came stock on my CVO" or something of that nature.
Edit: The OPs emblems aren't even CVO emblems, just a bar and shield on a HD.
Back on topic. OP if you use the stuff I mentioned above spray it on and let it sit a bit to soak into the residue prior to wiping off. Also as mentioned above it is best to always test on an unseen part first.
