I bought the seat cause I sat on one and it felt good, I like the styling and the stitching matched my laguna orange bike and matches my scorched orange bike now even better. No one has ever commented to me ...oh that's a CVO seat, you shouldn't have that on your bike. Even guys I ride with that own CVOs.

Let it go! Its a harley bar and shield badge.
LOL just wait till Commudus finds out I have the same diamond stitch seat, Airflow Rider boards, pegs and grips and blacked out gauge surrounds that are also available as standard on the 2018 Dark Alloy & Black Denim CVO!

I'll be out front and center in the Colosseum Vehicle Operatio

"congratulations. I shall sacrifice a hundred parts to honor your CVO".

After reading more about matte paint, there is no polishing it. As much as I like the appearance, I'm glad I don't have to deal with that! What a bummer.

It’s true. Even my dealer basically said it ages and takes Ona mottled finish.

To be fair, I’ve been painting rat bikes matte black for years with a rattle can haha when they get scratched you just blow them over with another can of matte black.

I wouldn’t buy another denim finish bike as you end up with a scruffy bike that’s actually meant to look scruffy.

I believe that's why H-D call it 'Denim' and not matte, to describe the way the appearance 'ages' like the jeans material (its in the manual, see below)
Yes its a ball ache that you can't polish or touch-up scratches, like conventional paint

DENIM FINISH CARE

Some motorcycles have a denim (flat or matte) finish. The denim finish has qualities which differ from high gloss finishes on all other Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Like denim fabric, denim paint burnishes or mars with age and use that adds character and personality to the finish. Refer to Table 38 for recommended products.

• If scratched, the color coat of paint does nick/scuff and these marks cannot be rubbed out.

• If polished, the finish will become less matte and more glossy over time.
FWIW mines 5 years old and the paint looks as good as new. Get compliments all the time. Admittedly I'm obsessed with keeping it clean, but then in my defence I do ride it daily and in ALL weathers.
around the top of the side panels the seat has rubbed and flattened the paint, but apart from the odd nick here and there it's in good shape VS buddies gloss bikes
