Update, picked up the trike from the shop today and went for a test romp. I say romp because it’s still very cold out here on the plateau. First impression the idle was spot on making sweet, sweet music very muscle car sounding without the tink, tink ball bearing popcorn sound, it’s a very rich tone with a deep note.

The stock CVO mufflers that before didn’t wake up until about 3k and you were really leaning on them, with FM catless headpipe they come alive at about 2k and do not overwhelm your ears or get obnoxious as you run up the rpm.

The cam….. We went with FM recommended Wood22XE and tune, there call was 100% spot on. Power down low from idle until 1500ish is for a lack of a better description is nearly the same as stock no weird snatching or jerky happening, but at about 2k it really comes alive and pulls at about twice the velocity as it did before! Yes I was really crushing the seat cushion all the up too about 4500rpm. I didn’t feel the need for a higher rpm blast, as I know the wife is in for a thrilling surprise.

In a nut shell, power delivery is very linear with super smooth ramp up this Stage 2 combo is highly recommend!!

I will give my wife’s rider impression after the weather warms up and she get her first ride in.

You're making me excited about the future 22XE cam for my bike.
I'll be eagerly awaiting that15K service.
Are you guys gonna get it Dynotuned, or is that FM map really good?

I think your going too really like this bumpstick if your willing too make the leap. Roll on power just doesn’t stop pulling and with a heavy machine it feels like it’s 300lbs lighter, yea that’s right I said it. It pulls that hard from the bottom all the way up until you let out of it the rate of acceleration is akin too a rollercoaster running down hill when your on level ground it’s super linear. I am that impressed with this combo.

I know the wife is going too really like the end result, power where she wanted it and goobs of it. She will not have any problems running/keeping up after this. Hell I like it so much myself I’m thinking of the same cam for my LRS. If we get a good enough day and the weather gets just a little nicer I will have her go for a hop and I will relay her impression for all as well.

It’s hard too dyno a trike so if you know of one with wide rollers I’m game but truth be known I don’t think she is…

The tune that FM sent is spot on and crispy! PM me your phone number and I will shoot you a vid?

I'm pretty deadset on swapping to the 22XE, it's just a matter of time right now.
I picked up the magnetic lifter holders a little while ago to make swapping cams easier, and I picked up some other parts too.
I don't wanna swap out this SE Torque cam right now while I'm recovering from 2 surgeries, and my boyfriend is coming to visit me, and then riding season is starting here. So the plan is to swap the cam at the end of the season or just before my 15k Service, which ever comes first.
I wanna see how the bike rides with the new suspension, and all those goodies installed before I throw the 22XE in.
The cam is "End game mods" when everything else is already done. But ofc we all know how that goes with Harleys, right?

I dont actually use my phone for much except for calls and navigation. You can always link me via PM.
I just upload little clips to my youtube channel when I wanna share stuff real quick.

If you go with Fuel Moto's supplied map for a PV tuner you won't need a dyno tune. You might want one and decide to do it, but definitely not necessary to achieve an overall great result with a cam / stage 2 upgrade. The key is giving FM as much data as possible so they can provide the best map for you. Data will include all components of stage upgrade from engine specs to intake to exhaust and everything in between. They'll benefit from knowing the type of riding you do, rpm ranges and typical shift point rpm.

The Wood 22XE is a popular and oft-mentioned cam for the M8. I'm running it in a 114 on a heavy RGL and I hardly ever use all the full-on acceleration power it provides. After running it almost a year I can easily understand why Fuel Moto is so strong on recommending it. Reminds me of my SS-396 build on a '68 Malibu. Great sound at idle. Torque ramps up fast. Smooth enough for cruising in town, and delivers the goods when you need to lay down some raw power. It's like holding a hand of aces...you try not to smile but you know you've got a winner.

Well said there is plenty of power on tap right now, the wife is in for some real riding fun now. And your right the power is going too be there when she wants or feels the need. The ability too keep up and move out with a group when she wants too will be heaven for her no more sleepy slug tri-glide anymore.

100% money well spent.

i have ordered the Wood's 22XE kit from Fuel Motto along with SE intake manifold and 5.5g/m injectors for my 22 LRS and have it booked in for fitment and dyno tune in about 3 weeks(can't wait) I must say I am really impressed with the quick response, knowledge and help Fuel Motto has provided me with making the choice of cam, even though I live thousands of miles away in New Zealand- thanks heaps Fuel Moto
