Try cleaning your negative terminals. I had an issue with my starter dragging intermittingly even after being connected to the trickle charger. Even the shop couldn't find out what was going on. This went on for about 3 months until I came across this video from Doc Harley. Since cleaning the terminals the issue hasn't returned. FYI I did replace the battery and it still did it until I cleaned the negative terminals.

That is a great video. I watched it about a year ago and is very helpful in educating the difference between clean grounds and regular (dirty) grounds. Also I don't think most people know, that when we add accessories, do not tie in to the clean grounds.
Just got off the phone with Battery Mart don't know if anyone has any dealing with them but they are suggesting that exact battery, also talked with a couple individuals who swear by the Harley battery as well as the a fuel moto rep that both say the same thing because of how Harley battery's are made with "virgin lead" and not recycled lead. Battery mart also suggested this battery odyssey pn pc925L they say this is being used on the big bore kit bikes a lot. so i don't know
As others have already pointed out, see if the battery passes a load test first. As to reps saying that virgin lead is somehow better than recycled lead, those guys are full of ****.
This reminds me of my 2016 Dyna Low Rider S. When new, and when hot, it would be a b1tch to turn over, struggling like you describe. New Yuasa higher amp battery, heavier duty cable helped, but didn't resolve. Went on for a few months until HD sent me a recall notice for a tune flash. Brought it in, flashed it, and like magic, it started right up. Every time. There was an issue with the ACR's not opening. The new tune gave the bike an audible "click" when you switched it on, which was the ACR's snapping open.

Ok, easy.
Plug in your PV, set to run, turn on the ignition (don't start the motor) - on the PV, go to program vehicle, quick tune and on the config tab, see if ACR is checked. If it is, I'd uncheck it, and program it. The after shutting it off for 15 sec, repeat and enable it. See if that fixes it and let us know.

One thing I noticed and I don't know if its because its in the garage starting, I smell fuel and at idle it seems to be running rich.with garage door open of course Lucas at fuel moto has been working the tune with me so I shot e-mail off to him early, and I also talked to there tech and they suspect same thing.

Not sure what you mean, but it sounds like it did t work. If so, sorry to hear that. Was the acr box checked when you first looked?
Regarding the smell. I wouldn't worry about it, as when first started and until at operating temp, the tune goes through varying levels of enrichment. Think choke on a carb...
yes it was already checked so I did as you suggested, un checked it saved shut power down waited turned on, re-checked it saved, powered down performed the starts that last start was a hard start there is not that much difference on compression from the 114-128 bout 30 psi or so. all so noticed the voltage drop was down to bout 6-9 volts, IAW the Harley voltage gauge on the faring but who knows how inaccurate those are. Waiting to hear back from Lucas at fuel moto on the tune

If it were me, just for the hell of it, I'd flash back the stock tune and try it. Definitely don't run it once (if) it starts, but see if it turns over easier. If so, let Lucas know...
Suspicions of a battery problem have existed but this battery 6 months old and this does' the same thing as the original battery. It is a pos Sams battery agm 400 CCA I did voltage check with fluke, same thing 7-9 volts initial crank cold then jumps up to 12 then charging at 13.7~14 volts I have also thought acrs arnt opening up right away so many variables trying to go easiest least expensive to new trike. can flash the stock tune briefly see if it repeats good idea. I was leery to do that Ill just disconnect fuel pump prior to I dont know of any other real way to test the battery. I have no error codes with all this going on. Also if anyone has a sure fire way to test the acrs good to know the tissue method kinda blows
