I'm reading the 2020's and after had most of the issues fixed . The M8 came out in 2017 , if HD doesn't haven't it figured out by know .... LOL ..
But yes , new stuff always has issues , you seriously wonder about how much R & R is really done before hand ??

I put over 40k miles on my 2018 Limited. I had no issues with that bike, other than cosmetic damage due to a minor accident and being dropped a lot (first Harley).
I traded it in on a 2021 Limited, which is a bit nicer, but I've had "gremlins" mostly around the starter and weird rattles.
I wouldn't be afraid of a 2018. Every individual bike is different. Maybe you'll have to fix something. Maybe you won't.
