Motorcycle Insurance DiscussionThis is the place to discuss what type of Motorcycle Insurance you carry or any problems or good experiences you've had with certain companies.
Wondering how many really knows what they have for medical coverage on their motorcycle policy?
can you post what you have for medical on you the rider and what insurance company?
Also it's a great time to confirm with them what you really have and if your "Wife" is covered or not as a passenger.
I think many would be shocked if you don't know for sure, Then find out if or when you really need it.
Just curious what people have and from what ins. Co.
Mine is Allstate, $5k.... pretty much useless really. I don't worry about it as myself & my wife have full medical through work.

I discovered ( the hard way) that "medical payment coverage" on a motorcycle policy is for any one you hit, not you. There may be a small cash payment, maybe $1,000, to cover an ambulance ride. They expect you to have separate health insurance to cover your injuries.

This is not how my Allstate policy is. The coverage is minimal, but it's for the rider/passenger...
"Automotive medical payments coverage can help pay for some of your medical costs or funeral expenses if you or anyone in your vehicle is injured in a covered accident.Allstate will help pay for medical services you receive within one year of the accident. This coverage also applies if you're a pedestrian struck by a car.Your coverage may include hospital bills, surgeries, x-rays, dental, pharmaceuticals, nursing services and more due to an injury from an auto accident."

I have $25,000 medical coverage through Progressive and $20,000 to cover funeral expenses if that should happen. Nowadays though if it's serious enough injuries $25,000 isn't nearly enough. Little over a year ago I got hit by a left turner. Broke a bunch of stuff and my hospital bills were ten times that.
We need to get the max on uninsured/underinsured coverage. Here in Ohio drivers are only required $25,000 coverage. That ain’t **** if one of them hit us.
I don't carry coverage for medical payments on any of my vehicles, to me it's pretty much worthless.
I think some of mixing up the liability which is required by law.
For liability on the bike I carry 100 300 and my vehicles 250/500 in all three categories liability, underinsured and non insured.
