Trick is, don't use an agent. Use their website and design your own policy.
Agents charge an agent fee. It's how they make money. I don't need to pay an agent to do what I can do myself.
*must be 100 or more miles from registered home
** covers "major" engine repair
My Dairyland insurance just took another leap this year and I parked the bike, so I went online looking at Geico... After adjusting my needs to match what I have now it was probably less than half of what I'm paying. Got a call a few days later to seal the deal and I asked the guy where do I send payment... Ahhh you have to pay online.. I asked if there's a office near by someplace I can mail payment. No, just give me your back account numbers and we'll work it that way. No thanks, what do you do if your in a wreck and need to contact someone, take a picture and send it to them online ? They asked me how do you pay your insurance now ? I drive by the office and pay it every 6 months. I still need bike insurance but not sure just what to do now.... Has anyone filed a claim with Geico and if so how did it work out ?
I'm OCD and when I ever have an accident I do all the paperwork. I call the insurance company, the appraisers and I send them a copy of the check to prove it's not my fault. Never had an incident that was my fault except body surfing an icy bridge. I paid out of pocket for that as it was just body work and I put it on myself. Yes it's no big deal giving them your account number. I do it all the time with Geico, They need a verbal ok for it to go through. Don't sweat it!!! If you do have an accident you call them and tell them what happened. They send someone out to check it out or you can go to someone you like to appraise it. Really it's no big deal. There is always someone at Geico.
You just call GEICO and it is a no hassle done deal. They take care of everything including motel stay, towing. The only thing they won't do is jump your bike. Nothing could be easier than making one call
Geico coverages here also. Phone app is very user friendly for customizing your policy. Definitely go directly to them online or by phone not using their independent agents. Competitive rates. No claims so far, thankfully.
We, my son and I, have Geico on my 2019 RGS and his former 2007 GSXR I saw former because in October it was stolen. He and I love in different states so there was a lot of phone calls, emails and texts between us and the insurance agent working the case. As of last week, he finally got a quote for just a bit more what he paid for the bike, but still not final. He has to turn in the title and both keys. So we are still waiting for the payout. Not very expeditious on their part, but when ever I have called and spoken to them and the specific agent handling the claim, they are very polite and helpful. Just wish they were quicker with the claims. The bike was my sons only mode of transportation while going to school and needs the money for a down payment on a car.
I like to have all of my insurance needs at the same time of the year. So I had Geico for ours cars and truck, motorcycles, and home owners. We have had clams on our car and was handled very well.I have changed to Progressive now not because I didn't like Geico but because home owners insurance jumped by $400 a year. In the long run Progressive cost was less because they gave a bigger discount for having Home ,bikes , and car.
