Default Rental Insurance?

Hey Guys, does anyone have MC insurance that covers you when you rent a bike either for loaner repairs or while out of state on vacation?
Thanks

Farmers does not, I have them.

I can attest that my Progressive policy does not cover rentals either.

My policy provides coverage for loaner if my bike is in for service/repairs.

It does not provide coverage for a rental.

Check your policy's "Definitions" section for "Covered Motorcycle".

my experience renting on Big Island was dealer covers the insurance on a rental above your deposit amount (usually $2500 put on a credit card) damage after that amount is on them.

I have State Farm. I considered renting a scoot once on a trip to florida. Before doing so, I checked with my agent and was advised that I had coverage of the rental BECAUSE I had coverage on my own bike.

Before I bought my HD, I rented a Street Bob, and was told by the dealer that my State Farm car insurance would not cover me. So I bought the temp bike ins and rode away. Later I asked my State Farm agent about it, and he said if I had motorcycle insurance, then any rental is covered just like when you rent a car. If you don't have a motorcycle, then they don't cover you on a motorcycle. It comes down to like and same coverage for rentals.

Spoke with Progressive and they only provide Liability (not collision/comp) on a "vacation" rental.

However, Progressive insurance does cover rental/loaner bikes in the event your bike is being serviced/repaired.

On another note, Progressive does cover your bike if it is being shipped. Because of time restraints, we are having our bikes shipped home from Sturgis (we're riding up). The shipper only insures up to $15K. Well, I definitely have more than $15K in the bike so they advised me to check with my insurer to see if it was covered while being shipped - apparently not all insurers do. This is saving me some coin as the cost to extend coverage with the shipper was quite pricey!
