Motorcycle Insurance DiscussionThis is the place to discuss what type of Motorcycle Insurance you carry or any problems or good experiences you've had with certain companies.
I hope I am posting this in the right area so if not, moderators please be gentle!
Like so many out there I have gone with a high deductible health insurance plan to keep monthly costs low. If I have a bike accident, heart attack, etc. the most I will pay is $5,000 and the insurance company will pay the rest. $5k beats the heck out of $250,000!
After the H.O.G. meeting on Monday I am now considering supplimenting that with AFLAC or something similar that will both help with the deductible and reimburse any possible missed work time.
StateFarm offers a policy for $27/mo that will cover maximum $1,250 if rushed to the E.R. and if admitted, $250/day for up to 365 days. Aflac is similar though they seem to cover much more. They have two accident policies available to the tune of $40-$50 or so each month. Does anyone have any feedback on AFLAC specifically or ANYTHING similar?
aflac insurance is about as simple as insurance gets you pay them a certain amount a month and when you are injured you call you agent and they let you know about what forms you need the doctor to fill out they once aflac receives that information they plug it in their formula and come up with a dollar amount that you get bases on your injuries how much it is i don't know never used my policy
What Webbdog8 said. Aflac has bailed me out with no questions asked when my colon ruptured. I have a supplemental disability policy thru them. They are great for a supplemental insurance. They do not drag there feet when it is time to pay out, you get your check or checks in my case right away.
Aflac paid me over $20k when I wrecked my car and spent 5 weeks in the ICU on a coma. The kicker wad, they didn't have to. The policy didn't go into effect for until 2 weeks after the wreck. They said that because I had signed up prior to the crash, they would cover me. They earned my lifetimes worth of business.

Seems like a no-brainer then! Thanks for the input all, it has made my decision pretty easy. I had heard a few negatives about them but that is with any large company so I will run with the positive feedback from here and from what I posted on FB. I hope it never gets used but it will be there should I need it. Thanks again!
I wanted to tell you that if you haven't found a good policy, I am the founder of Bikerdown.org and we offer Aflac as part of our membership for 20.00 dollars per month which can be a saving to all bike riders who can't get Aflac thru their employer of over $240.00 per year. If you are all set, please at least give www.bikerdown.org a look. Thanks, Laurie Easton, BikerDown.org
