last summer I was heading west on I 70 outside Denver.
I ran thru this long tunnel and when I exited the tunnel I thought I was going down. They had graded the road for a few miles. This was the most uncomfortable I have ever been on a bike. Rain grooves are one thing but this was horrible deep grooves. This caused me to pinch off a hemorrhoid.
Do any of you know if this has been re surfaced since last summer?
Yes, it was probably done the next week or two. That is a Federal Highway, and one of the best maintained roads I know of. You probably just had bad luck on when you hit it. All good now.
LOL - PS, I'm supposed to ride the bike to Fayetteville at the end of the month for a wedding!
What route do you take ?
I have friends in Denver, I trailer my bike out there every summer for two weeks to ride with them. I trailer it because it's 13 1/2 hours in my truck but if I rode it would be two long days. This way I don't have to ride by myself and I get two more days riding there. I have been going over to middle of Oklahoma and up to Kansas. Taking I70 into Denver. Driving across Kansas is awful. I was thinking of taking a more southern route this year.
I'd like to know your route and time tables afterwards.
thanks
Yep, I HATE I-70 through Kansas. I try to take back highways when ever possible. I plan to rde south east and skip Kansas all together, heading through the Oklahoma pan handle and cutting over to Tulsa and down. I got to stop by Stillwater, as I went to school there for a year when I was younger.
